 | Filigree Butterfly on Cover of Superbrands Macedonia | | Culture.in |  18 Jun 2009 | |  | |  A blue filigree butterfly - well-known item of urban jewelry from the early 1900s, which is displayed in the Museum of Macedonia, will be on the cover of the first Superbrands publication in Macedonia. This artifact was chosen because the craft of filigree is typical for the culture of Macedonia.
The Museum of Macedonia announced Wednesday the partnership with Superbrands, an international organisation based in England that from 1995 onwards recognises the most famous brands in 83 countries worldwide and publishes them in annual editions in every country.
In addition to the Museum of Macedonia, another 24 brands made it to the shortlist and will be revealed in a Superbrands publication, due to be promoted on June 30.
Museum's director Meri Pejoska said she was satisfied with the fact that the institution joined the elite company of Superbrands. - It's an honor to be included in the first Superbrands edition for Macedonia and to be recognised as cultural representatives, she said.
The filigree butterfly was made in early 1900s, discovered in the 1950s and is now owned by the Museum of Macedonia. |  |
