Macedonia is located on the Balkan Peninsula in southeast Europe. It is bounded on the north by Serbia, on the east by Bulgaria, on the south by Greece, and on the west by Albania. Macedonia covers an area of approximately 25,713 sq. km (approximately 9,928 sq. mi).
