Freedom Monument

The Monument of Freedom in Kocani, constructed in 1981, is a memorial complex situated on the hill above the city, and its most significant architectural-mosaic content dominates from the very top. This monument was designed by Gligor Cemerski.

Crkviste, Morodvis village

The village of Morodvis is located at the bottom of Mt. Plackovica, 7km south of Kocani.  During the 5th and the 6th centuries BC, the town of Morodvis was quite important. The ruins of four early Roman Christian basilicas have been found on the site, as well as about 80 necropoli (tombs). Archeological excavations also discovered a beautiful church dating from the 5th century.
