“Cigarette Butts,” stage adaptation of a hit-novel, “The Last New Year” by Italian author Niccolo Ammaniti directed by Igor Ivkovic will be performed at the Frosina Hall on Tuesday (23rd March) at 8:00 p.m. The play deals with the topic of euphoria for New Year’s festivities and whether it is necessary to invest so much energy and euphoria for only one attempt to cover the weaknesses of the global consumer society. What happens to outlaws from that euphoria? Do they win, or are they left abandoned as thrown cigarette butts? Through humorous, unusual situations and sometime “bleak” humour, the play reveals all hypocrisy of the modern man wherever they live. The play features Nenad Gjorgevic Tonkin and is costume designed by Mirjana Burazer. Often performed on the Youth Cultural Centre stage in Skopje, it took part in Fokus 2008 International Theatre Festival in Klagenfurt, Austria in the production of Theatre 007. |
