Rusali dance Early in the 18th century, dancing groups (Rusali) gathered in the centre of Gevgelija from Christmas till the Twelfth Night, dancing the traditional "rusali" dance following the sounds of the drums and sorrels. Selected dancers, aged 20-40, dressed in the traditional "rusali" clothes and demonstrated their knighthood through dance. Even today, a folklore group, within the cultural artistic association, nurtures and develops the Macedonian folklore and customs, by performing the “Rusali” dance, which reflects the historical past and the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the Macedonian people.
International graphic and art colony Each year the ”Gevgelija” International Graphic Colony and the “Dojrana” International Art Colony take place in Gevgelija, aiming to gather artists from all around the world, who would paint the beauties of this region.
Moto-Cross European championship European moto-cross championships are organized on the Milci moto-cross path every year, enabling the development of this sport in Gevgelija.
Malisin hunting area Malisin is a hunting ground on Mt. Kozuf, just 19km away from Gevgelija, spreading over an area of 300 hectares of birch and oak forest, fenced and adjusted for hunting. Hunters can enjoy hunting wild boar and deer, and can hire an interpreter and a driver and use a hunting dog.
