The Administrative Palace was built in 1970 on the quay of the river Vardar and was occupied by the Central Committee of the Communist Union of Macedonia. Concrete, glass, and metal were used in the building of the complex. Architect Petar Mulickovski used folk elements in designing the building. Today, the offices of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia are located in this building.

Assembly
The construction of the building, designed by Czech architect Viktor Hudak, started in 1936 and was finished in 1939. During World War II the building was the seat of the German and Bulgarian authorities and after the war, the entire public administration was seated there.

City Football Stadium
The biggest stadium in Macedonia is located in the city park, just 1 km from the centre of the town, and has 25,000 seats. The football grass playing field, which was built in accordance with international standards, hosts many matches of national championships, as well as the Macedonian Cup and matches of the Macedonian national team. Its six-lane running track makes it suitable for hosting athletic competitions, as well.

Ss. Kiril and Metodij University
Ss. Kiril and Metodij UniversityThe Ss. Kiril and Metodij University in Skopje was founded in 1949, consisting of three faculties and today it represents a family of 23 faculties, 10 institutes, and other institutions. The present structure of the Ss. Kiril and Metodij University can be illustrated with the following figures: over 36,000 students from Macedonia and over 700 foreign students are enrolled at all faculties; over 2,300 teaching and research staff and associates are engaged in the teaching, educational, and research processes in the faculties and over 300 in the institutes.

National Bank
The building of the National Bank of Macedonia was constructed of concrete and glass, which gives it a rather impersonal feeling. The designers of the bank were architects Radomir Lalovic and Olga Papes.

On 26 July 1999, an exhibition of old coins was opened in the hall of the National Bank of Macedonia. The collection had 820 rare coins of various periods, minted or used on the territory of Macedonia.

New Railway Station
The first train arrived at this station on 27 July 1981. The bridge constructions are 700m long, whereas the approaching embankments and the bridge over the river Vardar make it 1,400m long.

Universal Hall
The biggest concert hall in Skopje was built after the earthquake in 1963, as a result of the solidarity of 35 countries worldwide. It was officially opened on 1 January 1966 and since then more than 4,000 concerts and various events, viewed by an audience of over 4 million people were held there. The hall has welcomed many well-known dance attractions, as well as some of the greatest names of classical, jazz, rock, and pop music. Since 2003, the Universal Hall has produced various events in Macedonia and abroad.


Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU)
Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts
The institution was established by an Assembly decree on 23 February 1967. MANU has been in the new building since 1976. The building was designed by architect Boris Cipan, who used motifs from St. Jovan Bigorski Monastery. The Academy has over 40 fulltime and approximately the same number of associate members.
